The blessing box is a small, publicly accessible donation pantry where community members can give or take essential items. The simple principle of this service: “Take what you need. Leave what you can.” Non‑perishable food, toiletries, and baby supplies is an anonymous resource for anyone facing hardship. The goal is to strengthen community support by reducing food insecurity and encouraging neighbors to care for one another through small acts of generosity.
Gaithersburg Beloved Community Initiative (GBCI) builds intergenerational community in Greater Gaithersburg by bringing together children, youth, families, and older adults to foster connection, belonging, and social justice. Through mentoring, literacy, community action, and civic engagement programs, GBCI creates spaces where neighbors learn from one another, address shared challenges, and work together to strengthen the community.
