Janice Harmon

Director of Care, Connection & Inter-Gen Nurture

Janice Phipps-Harmon serves as the Minister of Care, Connection and Inter-Gen Nurture at Faith United Methodist Church. She leads the Congregational Care Ministers team which is a laity-centered approach to care for church members. Previously, she served for five years as the associate pastor at Emory Fellowship in Washington, DC. The New Jersey native works fulltime at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD as a congressional affairs specialist.

 

Love is at the root of her call to serve and work for justice in the world. She has a deep desire to help connect people to our loving God and each other for the transformation of the world.

 

Janice earned a Masters of Arts in Theology in 2021 from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. She was certified as a life coach in 2006 from the Newfield Network, Denver, CO. Currently, she is a certified candidate in process to be an ordained deacon in full connection to the United Methodist Church. 

 

She is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and self-professed “funtie” (fun auntie).
