The mighty one, God the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.  Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.  Our God comes and does not keep silence, before him is a devouring fire, and a mighty tempest all around him.   He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people: “Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!”  The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah     (Psalm 50:1-6)

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 5:30-8:15pm, Fellowship Hall

Once again this year we'll provide a pancake supper for the congregation.  Please plan to be at church by 5:30pm (5:15pm if possible!) to help set up tables, mix batter, etc... If you have a griddle and/or spatula, please label them and bring them along.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 6:00-8:00pm

"Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez"!

What's the best way to enter into a season of repentance and contemplation?  A blow-out pancake and bacon supper, of course!  Stuff yourself silly as we celebrate Shrove Tuesday, or what's more commonly known as "fat" Tuesday, because it's your last chance to pig out before you give it all up for Lent.

For $5 per person, you'll get all the pancakes, sausage, bacon, and fruit you can eat, plus good music and party favors!  Bring the whole family, and "let the good times roll"!

All proceeds go toward the Youth Mission Trip this summer.

New Members' Class

Sunday, February 26, 2012, 11:00am in Room 203

New members will be received during worship on March 4th.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor Laura by phone:  301-1881, ext. 2201 or at revpeterson@faithworkshere.com.

Help the Hungry by Dining Out!

The Season of Lent

Tuesday Nights Together (TNT) - Igniting Faith

This Lent, Faith is starting an exciting new Tuesday evening event.  We're calling it Tuesday Nights Together, or TNT.  It will be a wonderful evening of sharing, learning, and serving.  The basic format will be the same each week, but the program will change.

We will offer this new program during the six weeks of Lent.  Our goal is to streamline meetings to free up time and energy for more of our congregation to engage regularly in activities beyond worship and committee meetings, and to draw our community in with events that appeal to an audience beyond our current members.  This new schedule will allow us to provide additional opportunities to focus on spiritual development, engage our minds, and deepen our community outside of our meetings.  We hope you can make every effort to attend and support this exciting new endeavor at Faith!

Childcare will be available from 6:30-8:00pm.  Children 0-7 will be in a childcare zone.  Kids and Youth ages 8 and older can hang out in the movie zone or take advantage of the study zone!  Youth are also invited to participate in the Learning opportunities listed below.

TNT Schedule

6:15-7:00pm:  Sharing - Dinner & Fellowship Time

Dinner will be available throughout the 45 minutes, so come when you can and we'll have a meal ready for you!  The optional meal is $5 per person.

7:00-8:00pm:  Learning

Different 'tracks' will be available at this time, and change weekly.  You'll have the option of participating in a small group, a worship experience, a speaker, a hands-on demonstration, a mission opportunity, or other events.  Your suggestions of what you'd like to see offered are always appreciated!

8:00-9:00pm:  Serving

Committee meetings will take place at this time on the following monthly rotational schedule:

- 1st Tuesday:  SPRC, Christian Education

- 2nd Tuesday:  Finance, Hospitality/Evangelism
